Russian aviation bombed the Dergachi community in the Kharkiv region on the morning of July 14. Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing in the village of Slatyne, according to a statement by the head of the Dergachi City Military Administration, Viacheslav Zadorenko.

At around 10:00 a.m. Kyiv time, Russian forces struck Slatyne with guided aerial bombs.

"Unfortunately, one woman died from her injuries in an ambulance. Another woman, aged 72, was taken to hospital with a head injury and a fractured radius in moderate condition," Zadorenko said.

Later, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office clarified that the victim was a 50-year-old woman. She was the daughter-in-law of the injured woman.

Damage in the village and search for victims

It is also known that dozens of private homes and outbuildings were damaged in Slatyne as a result of the massive Russian strike.

Search efforts are ongoing to locate and assist any additional victims.

"According to preliminary information, people may still be trapped under the rubble. Emergency and rescue services are working at the scene," the head of the military administration said.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov added that, according to preliminary reports, another person may still be trapped beneath the debris of a house in the village.

"Enemy guided aerial bombs struck private residential properties, destroying at least eight homes. Four people were injured in the attack and are receiving medical assistance," Syniehubov said.

On July 8, Russian forces killed the last remaining resident of the village of Tokarivka Druha in the Kharkiv region in a drone strike. She was walking along a road between the villages of Prudianka and Tsupivka.

Earlier in July, authorities expanded the civilian evacuation zone in three administrative areas of the Kharkiv region: the Dergachi and Shevchenkove communities, as well as Bohodukhiv district.

Russian forces also launched a missile strike on the Zmiiv community in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region. On June 28, a 55-year-old woman was killed and eight others were injured.
