Russian strike on Sumy shopping mall leaves 21 injured, including three children

The Russian drone attack on a shopping mall in Sumy, according to updated information, killed two young people. More than 20 people were also injured, including three minors, according to statements by Sumy City Military Administration head Serhii Kryvosheienko, Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov, and the National Police.
21 people injured in Sumy
As of now, Kryvosheienko says 21 people are known to have been injured in the Russian drone attack on a shopping mall in central Sumy.
"Three of them are children. Four injured people, including a 16-year-old girl, are in serious condition in medical facilities," he said.
Oleh Hryhorov clarified that the victims were a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman.
"Fortunately, the information about a third person killed has not been confirmed."
According to him, two men and a woman are in serious condition. Another woman is in critical condition.
"Among those injured are three girls aged 15-16. Their injuries are minor to moderate. Doctors are providing everyone with the necessary medical care," he said.
The National Police added that the enemy strike damaged the shopping mall building and cars parked in the parking lot. A fire broke out on the premises.

"Police officers, rescuers, medics, and other specialized services are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are documenting the consequences of another war crime committed by the Russian army and assisting citizens," the statement said.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that a Russian drone attacked a shopping mall building in Sumy. There were deaths and injuries, and a fire broke out.
It was also reported that on September 8, Russian forces attacked a commuter diesel train in the Sumy region. Some people were not far enough from the train and sustained shrapnel injuries.
