Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the Russian strike on the Slovyansk thermal power plant. The attack claimed the lives of two people, according to Zelenskyy.

"A few hours ago, there was a strike on the Slovyansk Thermal Power Plant – a strike with Russian bombs. Sadly, two people were killed. My condolences. There are also wounded. This is outright terror. Normal people don’t wage war like this, and the world must respond appropriately to such Russian warfare," the President said.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has agreements with Norway to support gas supplies. He added that there are also agreements with Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands regarding equipment for electricity generation.

October 30 mass strike on Ukraine

During the night and morning of October 30, Russia carried out another massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine. Explosions were reported in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, and in western regions. The enemy’s main targets were energy facilities.

According to the DTEK energy company, the Russian army attacked thermal power plants in several regions, causing serious damage to equipment, and work to eliminate the consequences is ongoing.

The company emphasized that this mass attack on thermal power plants was the third in October.

Following the explosions in several regions of Ukraine, emergency power outages occurred. By around 8 a.m., authorities reported that scheduled blackout schedules had been introduced nationwide instead of emergency shutdowns.
