Russian forces launched a missile strike on Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, on September 21, injuring 19 people, the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration reports.

“As of now, there are 19 injured in Mukachevo. Ten people were taken to the local hospital, and another nine sought medical help on their own,” the Regional Military Administration stated.

The Head of the Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, confirmed that six patients remain hospitalized after examination:

  • At St. Martin’s Hospital: three people with leg and pelvic injuries, one with blunt abdominal trauma, and one with a brain contusion.
  • At the Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Hospital named after A. Novak, one patient with shrapnel wounds to the head, as well as eye and ear damage.

Another four people at the scene were treated for acute stress reactions by psychologists.

Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine

Earlier that night, Russia carried out a massive strike across Ukraine, using Shahed kamikaze drones, cruise missiles, and Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

Explosions were reported in Lviv and the wider region, while in Mukachevo a missile hit a local enterprise, causing fires. As of this morning, emergency services were still working to extinguish fires and eliminate the consequences of the strike.

Local authorities also warned residents about possible air pollution from the attack, urging people to keep windows closed.

Commenting on the strike, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia set one of its insane anti-records by attacking hundreds of targets across Ukraine overnight, launching over 570 strike drones and dozens of cruise missiles.
