Russian strike hits Poltava train station, damages building and rail cars

Russia attacked Poltava at night, damaging the railroad infrastructure. The station and railroad cars were affected, according to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia).
On the night of June 29, Russian troops launched a massive combined attack on the territory of Ukraine. The railway infrastructure of Poltava came under attack.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the attack damaged the building of the Poltava-Pivdenna station.
Windows and doors were smashed, and the ceilings partially collapsed. The suburban station, passenger cars and administrative buildings were also damaged.
Attack on Ukraine
On the night of June 29, Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine, firing a total of 537 air targets.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 249 of them, while another 226 were lost to crash or debris.
Almost all regions of the country came under attack. The Russians attacked the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions. In the Lviv region, critical infrastructure was targeted, and a wounded person was reported in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In the Poltava region, in addition to damaging the train station in the regional center, Russian drones also hit an industrial facility in the Kremenchuk district. According to Volodymyr Kohut, the governor, the attack caused a fire.
Air Force pilot Maksym Ustymenko, who was supposed to be training on F-16 fighters, was killed in the attack.
