Today, January 2, Russians struck a multi-storey residential building in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. According to preliminary information, there are casualties, as stated by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov.

"The enemy attacked central Kharkiv. The consequences are being clarified," the Kharkiv mayor said.

He later added that the enemy strike hit a residential high-rise building in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. According to preliminary information, there are casualties and significant destruction.

Syniehubov reported that, preliminarily, one person was injured as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv. He noted that all emergency services are en route to the scene and that the consequences are being established.

Ihor Terekhov later stated that as of now, 12 people have been injured as a result of the enemy attack.

Russian attacks on Kharkiv

On Thursday, January 1, explosions were heard in Kharkiv after the Russians struck the suburbs with a guided aerial bomb. One person was injured as a result of the attack.

Earlier, on December 26, Russians hit one of Kharkiv's main roads with guided aerial bombs. Two people were killed, and three others sustained blast injuries.

In addition, the blast wave shattered windows in nearby apartment buildings and private houses. Several cars also caught fire.

According to Syniehubov, the impact area consists solely of civilian residential buildings and an educational facility, with no military sites present.

In particular, on the morning of December 24, several explosions were heard in Kharkiv. An enemy missile or aerial bomb was heading toward the city.

In addition, on December 24, Russia carried out a series of targeted attacks on a thermal power plant in the suburbs of Kharkiv, causing a drop in voltage in the city's energy system.

Terekhov also reported a hit by an enemy Molniya-type drone in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. According to the mayor, cars and windows in a high-rise building were damaged.
