Russian attacks on Kharkiv and the region

Russian forces continue to carry out relentless attacks on the Kharkiv region, using a wide range of weapons against civilian infrastructure.

On the night of July 16, Russian forces struck a park in Kharkiv, damaging a cinema, a parking lot, and tennis courts. That same night, the city came under a large-scale drone attack that damaged buildings in several districts.

The overnight attack followed hours of daytime attacks on July 15, when Russia continuously struck Kharkiv with drones and guided aerial bombs.

A fire broke out in the city due to a series of strikes, and civilians were wounded. While rescuers were clearing the aftermath of the first impacts, Russian forces dropped another guided bomb on the city.

Other cities across the Kharkiv region have also come under Russian air attacks.

Earlier, on July 17, Russian aircraft bombed the city of Izium, injuring several people, including three children. Guided aerial bombs struck civilian infrastructure, leaving some of the city's youngest residents wounded.
