Russian drones hit Ukraine's Kharkiv park, damaging cinema and sports facilities

Russia launched a massive overnight drone attack on Kharkiv on July 16, damaging buildings and other facilities across several districts of the city, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported.

What Russia used in the attack and when
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, at approximately 12:52 a.m., groups of Russian drones were detected heading toward Kharkiv.
Immediately afterward, a series of explosions was heard in the city. According to local online communities, the explosions continued for approximately five minutes.
Initial consequences of the attack
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote on social media that Shahed drone strikes were preliminarily recorded in the Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Nemyshlianskyi districts.
However, as of 1:50 a.m., details of the consequences were known only for two districts: Shevchenkivskyi and Nemyshlianskyi. More details are provided below.
Shevchenkivskyi district
According to Terekhov, a strike was recorded on park grounds in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The Russian attack damaged a cinema building, a parking lot, and tennis courts.
"Another strike occurred on the territory of a garage cooperative," he added.
Nemyshlianskyi district
In this district, the enemy preliminarily struck a house. All relevant services are working at the scene.
Attacks on Kharkiv
On the afternoon of July 15, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with drones and an aerial bomb for several hours. The attack caused fires and damaged apartment buildings.
Russian forces also struck Kharkiv on July 14. That day, a Russian drone directly hit an apartment in a high-rise building, causing a fire.
On the night of July 12, not only Kharkiv but also the Ukrainian city of Dnipro came under an enemy drone attack. Strikes on civilian infrastructure and fires were recorded in both cities.
