Russian strike aftermath: What shopping mall in Ukraine's Dnipro looks like

Russians struck the Novyi Kontynent shopping mall in Dnipro, Ukraine, on the evening of September 19. The State Emergency Service says the response to the hostile attack is still underway.
Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, was the first to report the new Russian strike on the city at 6 p.m.
Amid this, the first photos and videos of the fire that broke out in Dnipro following Russia's attack began circulating online.
Eyewitnesses said Russia had struck a local shopping center, which was immediately engulfed in flames.
Information also emerged that Russians had struck the Novyi Kontynent shopping mall, although local authorities did not confirm it for some time.
Later, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council head Mykola Lukashuk officially said that Russian forces had deliberately struck the shopping mall, but did not disclose its name.

Some time later, Hanzha published the first photo showing the Novyi Kontynent shopping mall engulfed in flames.

Initially, the regional military administration chief reported that two people had been injured in the Russian attack.

According to him, the injured were a 59-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman.
"Both victims were hospitalized in moderate condition," Hanzha clarified.

He also said the Russian army damaged not only the shopping mall in Dnipro, but also warehouses and apartment buildings.
Later, the number of people injured in the city began to rise.
As of 8:48 p.m., four people are known to have been injured in this attack.

"The number of people injured in the Russian attack on a shopping mall in Dnipro has risen to four. They are all receiving the necessary medical care," Hanzha wrote.

According to Lukashuk, Russian forces deliberately struck the shopping mall in Dnipro on Saturday evening.

"They struck the shopping mall on Saturday, when people come to shop. It was the same despicable weekend attack as the one on the Soniachna Halereia shopping center in Kryvyi Rih in August," he recalled.

Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council head is convinced that Russia's goal is not only to cause casualties. It also wants people to be afraid to visit shopping centers.

"After today's strike, many people will think twice about whether they should go to a shopping mall. Whether they should let their child go there to buy bread or pick up something else. Ukraine needs peace so that parents can let their children leave home without fear," Lukashuk stressed.
Earlier, media reported that a Russian drone struck a car in Sumy region, killing four people.
It was also reported that a Russian strike damaged one of Suziria Group's warehouses.
