Russian soldiers have likely executed Ukrainian soldiers taken captive. A corresponding video has appeared online, according to the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, on Telegram.

According to Lubinets, Russian military channels are spreading a video of the alleged execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

"In the video, Russian soldiers are repeatedly ordered to execute the prisoners. This highlights that the death penalty is a deliberate policy of Russia," the ombudsman noted.

He pointed out that such actions by Russian forces violate international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Lubinets stated that he has already sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross. He called on these organizations to put pressure on Russia so that the aggressor faces consequences for such actions and refrains from committing them in the future.
