This morning, August 1, Russian forces shelled Kherson with artillery. Due to the attack, a mother of three was killed, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reports.

"Around 6:40 a.m. local time, the Russian army shelled the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with artillery. Due to the enemy attack, a woman born in 1974, a mother of three, sustained injuries incompatible with life," Prokudin said.

The Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration also added that over the past day, Russian troops targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential neighborhoods in several settlements across the region. In particular, a multi-story building and eight private houses were damaged.

The enemy also damaged a gas pipeline, outbuildings, private garages, and cars. In addition, six people were injured due to Russian aggression.

Shelling of Kherson and region

Russian forces continue to attack Kherson and the surrounding region despite their retreat from the area in the fall of 2022. Recently, the enemy has been increasingly using attack drones and regularly shelling the regional center and liberated settlements with artillery and guided aerial bombs.

For example, in a suburb of Kherson last night, an enemy strike drone targeted a civilian vehicle. Two people were injured. Russian troops also recently struck rescuers who were responding to the aftermath of a previous attack in Kherson.

In addition, on July 25, during the day, Russian forces targeted medics in Kherson with a drone strike. Several people were wounded due to the enemy attack.
