Russian special services are planning to carry out several terrorist attacks in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and Russia against the local population. The aggressor state's FSB intends to blame members of partisan movements afterward, the Ukrainian partisan movement Atesh reports.

The informants within Russian special services informed Ukrainian partisans about these plans.

"This is a standard FSB (Federal Security Service of Russia - ed.) method that they have already used before to strengthen repression and total control," Atesh emphasizes.

The partisans also pointed out that, as part of preparations for these provocations, the Russian authorities preemptively declared Atesh a terrorist organization.

"We remind you that our movement operates exclusively against Russian military occupiers and condemns any crimes against peaceful civilians. The occupiers will not be able to hide their real crimes behind false staged incidents," the Ukrainian movement noted.

Previous warnings after terrorist attack near Moscow

In April last year, partisans also reported that Russian special services were attempting to organize a terrorist attack. The goal of the provocation at that time was also to shift the blame onto Ukrainian partisans and underground resistance members.

This warning from the underground came shortly after the incident in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region when several armed men opened fire at the the Crocus City Hall. That same evening (March 22, 2024), the Kremlin began hinting that the "Ukrainian side" might have been involved in the attack. Later, the Russian authorities openly started spreading false claims about supposed "Ukrainian traces", completely ignoring numerous facts pointing to ISIS jihadists.

The terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) allegedly claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack. The United States and several other Western countries confirmed the existence of intelligence linking ISIS to the attack in the Moscow region and dismissed any Ukrainian involvement. At that time, the US State Department also claimed that Russia was trying to use the attack to justify its war against Ukraine. Furthermore, the reports indicated that Iran had also warned the Kremlin about the danger of an Islamist attack.

Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence called the Moscow attack a deliberate and planned provocation by Russian special services on the orders of President Vladimir Putin.
