Russian media reports that strike drones attacked the Novo-Ufimsky oil refinery in Bashkortostan overnight. The facility is located approximately 900 miles (1,500 kilometers) from the border with Ukraine.

Residents reported that a large fire broke out today at the Novo-Ufimsky oil refinery.

The Russians shared a video showing a strike on the refinery.

The head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, confirmed that today, September 13, the Bashneft enterprise suffered a "terrorist drone attack."

According to him, one of the drones was detected and was being tracked. Security forces at the enterprise opened fire with heavy small arms.

“The unmanned aerial vehicle was damaged and fell on the territory of the refinery. There are no dead or injured. The production site received minor damage, a fire broke out, which is now being extinguished,” Khabirov said.

After that, another drone was reportedly shot down.

“The scale of the consequences of its fall is still being clarified. All services have been brought to combat readiness. Law-enforcement agencies, company management and representatives of the Ministry of Ecology are working on the site. The situation is under control,” the head of the republic added.

Locals wrote about a large fire that broke out on the refinery grounds.

Attacks on Russian factories

On the night of September 12, several regions of Russia were again attacked by unknown drones. Russians reported explosions, and in one city, a fire.

Over the past year, Russia has increasingly suffered from drone attacks and explosions in various regions of the country.

For example, on the morning of August 7, they reported explosions and fires in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia. Russians claimed that unknown drones attacked an oil refinery and a military unit.

Later that day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the Afipsky oil refinery, as well as attacks on a number of other important facilities.

After the drone attack on Poland, strikes on Russia may increase. Recently, the head of the Bundestag’s defence committee, Thomas Röwekamp, called on NATO to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons and asked for permission to destroy Russian drones even as they approach its airspace.

He noted that, in the conditions of the existing war, the best way to fight drones is to destroy production capacities and the means of their launch.
