Haber 7 reports that the drone was found in a field in a rural area. Following the report, gendarmerie units were dispatched to the site. An investigation into the drone’s crash has been launched.

Türkiye destroys unknown drone

On December 15, Türkiye destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle approaching its airspace from the Black Sea, the country’s Ministry of Defense reported.

According to the ministry, the object was identified as a drone that had lost control. To prevent potential risks and threats, Turkish forces decided to neutralize it.

The drone was shot down by F-16 fighter jets in a safe area outside populated zones. The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the operation was carried out with measures to minimize potential consequences.

For context, in September, nearly 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Following that incident, crashed drones were found on Polish territory.

Additionally, on September 18, a fragment of a Russian Gerbera drone was discovered on a beach in Latvia after being washed ashore.
