Ukraine is present in the information space of Türkiye, but it has to compete for attention with the topics of Palestine and Syria. In addition, Russian propaganda feels free in Türkiye, according to Ukraine's Ambassador to Türkiye Nariman Dzhelyal.

According to the diplomat, Ukraine remains in the information space of Türkiye thanks to the negotiation process and visits of high-ranking officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

However, Dzhelyal noted that the struggle for audience attention is constant.

He says that Ukraine has serious information competitors, such as Palestine and Syria, and that it was very difficult to compete for attention with them because there was also destruction and many people were dying. He adds that in Palestine, the number of victims, especially children, was much higher, describing it as a kind of information arithmetic.

Ambassador drew special attention to the activities of Kremlin propaganda in the Turkish media space. Unlike in the EU, where it is often restricted, in Türkiye, Russian narratives feel quite free.

"Russian propaganda operates comfortably in Türkiye," the diplomat emphasized.

Ukraine-Russia talks in Istanbul

Ukraine and Russia have already held three rounds of negotiations to end Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The main result is that the parties managed to agree on the exchange of prisoners and the bodies of fallen soldiers.

At the same time, the Kremlin continues to put forward demands that are unacceptable to Kyiv, including, for example, giving four Ukrainian regions and Crimea under the control of the terrorist country, stopping the supply of Western weapons, declaring neutrality, and more.
