Russian offensive near Ukraine's Kupiansk stalls amid 3 key setbacks

American analysts concluded that Russia's offensive near Kupiansk has stalled due to:

• The density of Ukrainian drone operations;

• A shortage of trained personnel;

• Fuel shortages among Russian forces.

A spokesperson for a Ukrainian brigade operating in the Kupiansk sector has already commented on the situation.

According to the spokesperson, the high density of Ukrainian drone activity in this section of the front is preventing the Russian military from deploying a large number of its drones, including Lancet and Molniya.

Units of Russia's 347th Motorized Rifle Regiment are currently operating in the Kupiansk sector, including:

• The 47th Tank Division;

• The 68th Army Corps;

• The Eastern Military District.

These units have encountered severe fuel shortages, preventing them from making active use of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and passenger vehicles.

Moreover, Russian troops are unable to conduct active offensive operations due to a lack of trained personnel.

On July 22, a Russian military blogger said that Russian forces continued limited offensive operations toward Borova. However, they failed to make any advances.

Geolocated footage released a day earlier also showed a Ukrainian MiG-29 striking a Russian drone command post east of Kurylivka using two GBU-39 guided bombs.

Earlier reports detailed how Ukrainian air defenses repelled Russia's July 23 attack and how many aerial targets were destroyed.
