Russian night attack on Ukraine, September 7: 25 Shahed drones destroyed
The Russian Federation launched drone attacks on the Sumy and Odesa regions overnight on September 7. Ukrainian Air Force shot down 25 enemy UAVs, according to the Ukrainian Air Force's Telegram channel.
Occupying forces deployed several groups of Shahed-136/131 combat drones from northern, southeastern, and southern directions (Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea).
In total, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 33 Shahed drones. The Air Force Command reports that most of the drones were heading towards the southern areas of the Odesa region.
"Following combat operations by the Air Force, in coordination with the anti-air defense of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, 25 Shahed-136/131 drones were destroyed," the statement reads.
Drone attacks on Ukraine
In recent weeks, the occupiers have intensified nighttime attacks on the Odesa region. One person was injured as a result of the Russian attack on the Odesa region on the night of September 7.
Explosions were also reported in the Sumy region. Air defense systems were activated there.
