Russian National Guard reserves pulled to eastern Ukraine: Reasons revealed
The occupiers have moved additional Russian Guard forces to the temporarily occupied eastern Ukraine. They will be searching for deserters, according to the Telegram channel Resistance.
"Due to the increase in desertion cases from the front line, the enemy has expanded the number of checkpoints in eastern Ukraine," the report states.
Additional Russian Guard forces have arrived in the temporarily occupied eastern Ukraine, where they are acting as deterrent units tasked with identifying deserters in the Russian army.
As a result, the number of patrols has increased in Donetsk, Horlivka, and other occupied towns.
"The reason for the desertion is the active 'meat assaults' introduced by Russian generals due to a shortage of equipment on the battlefield," Resistance notes.
Situation in the Russian army
Russian commanders continue to use so-called "meat assaults" at the front in Ukraine, sending troops into battle without regard for losses.
For example, in June, it was reported that Russian occupiers stationed deterrent units of Kadyrov's men on the border with Kharkiv region. Additionally, Russian commanders have threatened soldiers with execution for refusing to advance in the Kharkiv direction.
In 2023, Ukrainian forces captured an FSB officer who led a unit that executed Russian soldiers during a retreat.
