The number of victims of the night attack on January 23 is growing in Zaporizhzhia. Over 40 people were injured, according to the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.

As of 10:15 a.m. Kyiv time, 31 people in Zaporizhzhia have sought medical help.

“22 of them are in hospital in moderate condition. There is also a two-month-old baby in the hospital,” said Fedorov.

In addition, as the prosecutor's office clarified, the victims also include employees of the State Emergency Service and power company workers who came under fire while eliminating the consequences of the previous attack. The SES noted that four rescuers were injured in the attack.

A 47-year-old man was killed in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a Russian strike.

As of 11:35 a.m. Kyiv time, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration said that the number of casualties has increased to 45. Residents of Zaporizhzhia continue to seek medical care.

As of 1:13 p.m. Kyiv time, according to the police, the number of wounded increased to 46 as a result of the Russian missile attack. Police, rescuers, and relevant specialized services continue to work on the ground.

Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia

Last night, the Russian army launched a combined attack on Zaporizhzhia. The Russians hit a power facility with drones. According to the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, over 20,000 residents were cut off from electricity, and critical infrastructure facilities such as boiler houses, healthcare, and social security institutions were also left without power.

In the morning, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with ballistic missiles. One of the missiles hit a residential area and destroyed a two-story apartment building. The territory and premises of an industrial facility were also damaged. The blast wave and debris damaged multi-story and private buildings located near the hit sites.

Russian strike killed a 47-year-old man and injured many others.
