A Russian strike on Wednesday, October 7, killed four children in Pryluky. Three of them were just one year old, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"Work to clear the rubble is ongoing at the site of a Russian missile strike on a residential building in Pryluky. As of now, 18 people have been reported killed, four of them children: Oleksandr, Kyrylo, and Serhii, who were only one year old, and eight-year-old Maksym. My condolences to all their families and loved ones," the head of state said.
The president stressed that dozens of people were injured in the attack, including seven children. He added that all emergency services are involved and working at the scene.
"Fifteen people were rescued, including one child. There are still people who have not yet been accounted for," Zelenskyy said.
The head of state stressed that Russia knows very well that it is striking "ordinary cities, ordinary life."
"And the continued use of missiles against Ukraine, against our people, our children, is an absolutely deliberate choice of terror," the president said.
Today, at around 6:00 a.m., Russian forces launched a missile strike on Pryluky, with one of the missiles directly hitting a residential apartment building. At the time of the attack, residents were still in their apartments.
So far, 18 people are known to have been killed in the Russian strike. Another 55 people were injured, including seven children.
