Russian missile strike on Sumy: Killed and injured number increases
In Sumy, the number of killed and injured due to the Russian missile attack on November 17 has increased. 11 people have already been killed, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
“As of this morning, the death toll from the Russian attack has increased to 11, including 2 children,” the report says.
According to rescuers, another 55 people were injured, including 8 children.
“A resilience center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was promptly deployed at the scene to help citizens,” the SESU says.
Number of casualties increased dramatically
As early as 8:47 a.m. Kyiv time, rescuers reported that the number of victims of the Russian missile attack on Sumy had increased to 89 people.
“Among them are 11 children,” the agency states.
Russian attack on Sumy
On the evening of November 17, Russian troops attacked Sumy. A densely populated residential area of the city was attacked. One of the Russian strikes hit a high-rise building.
Almost immediately, it was reported that many people were injured. Late in the evening of November 17, 10 deaths were reported.
On the night of November 18, an explosion was heard in Sumy amid a missile threat, and the city lost power.
