Russian missile strike kills one in Kryvyi Rih and injures six

On the night of August 16, Russia struck industrial facilities in Kryvyi Rih. As a result of the attack, one person was killed and six others were injured, reports the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.
The attack on Kryvyi Rih was reported by Hanzha — according to him, the enemy struck industrial facilities in the city, causing a fire. Rescue workers began operating at the scene immediately.
Initially, only one injured person was reported, with medics providing the necessary assistance. However, the situation later worsened: the number of injured rose to six, and one of them died.
All of the injured remain under medical supervision. Information regarding the aftermath of the attack may be updated.
This attack on Kryvyi Rih was part of a large-scale overnight strike across several regions of Ukraine. That same night, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles — loud explosions were heard in the capital, following earlier explosions already recorded in other cities across the country.
On August 12, RBC-Ukraine reported that the Kremlin had shifted its aerial attack tactics, stepping up the use of ballistic missiles and Banderol jet drones — likely seeking to exploit a temporary "window of opportunity." On the night of August 11, powerful explosions were already heard in Kyiv during yet another ballistic attack on the capital.
