Russian missile hits central Ukraine, injuring six including two children

Russian forces launched a missile strike on Uman in Ukraine’s Cherkasy region during the day on December 26. Six people were injured, including two children, according to the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets.
“Closer to noon, the enemy carried out a missile strike on the city. As of now, we have six injured people, including two children. All of them are receiving the necessary medical assistance,” Taburets said.
According to him, residential infrastructure was also damaged. All emergency services are currently working at the site of the strike.
Shelling of Ukraine on December 26
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, during the night of December 26, Russia attacked Ukraine using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 99 attack drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 73 enemy UAVs.
In particular, Russian troops carried out overnight strikes on energy and port infrastructure in the Odesa region, causing damage and power outages.
Russian drones also hit a terminal in the Mykolaiv region, damaging a vessel flying the Liberian flag.
It is also known that the enemy attacked two energy facilities belonging to DTEK in the southern Odesa region. The damage is significant, and restoration will take time.
In addition, Russian forces struck a railway station in Kovel, damaging a locomotive and a freight railcar.
Russian forces also attacked Mykolaiv and its suburbs with several attack drones, preliminarily identified as Molniya type. As a result of the shelling, part of the Mykolaiv district was left without electricity.
