Russian forces carried out attacks overnight on December 26 targeting energy and port infrastructure in the Odesa region of Ukraine. The strikes caused damage and power outages, according to DTEK (Ukraine's largest private energy company), Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, and Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper.

"Odesa region ports were under continuous hostile attacks throughout the night. As a result of drone strikes, grain elevators, warehouses of civilian companies, a barge, and vessels flying the flags of Slovakia and the Republic of Palau were damaged," Kuleba said.

According to him, firefighters are extinguishing fires at the impact sites. Port workers continue to assess the damage.

There are partial power outages, and repair crews are working to restore power.

A terminal in the Mykolaiv region also came under attack by Russian drones. A Liberian-flagged vessel was damaged. Restoration work is ongoing.

According to Kiper, Izmail and Odesa districts of the region, as well as the city of Odesa itself, were under attack overnight.

Air strikes caused additional damage to energy and port infrastructure. Fires broke out, and administrative buildings, equipment, and machinery were damaged.

No information about fatalities or injuries has been reported.

"The damage is significant. Restoring the equipment will take time," DTEK warned.

Attacks on Ukraine on December 26

On the night of December 26, Russia attacked Ukraine using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 99 strike drones. Air defense forces shot down 73 enemy drones.

In particular, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv and its suburbs with several strike drones, reportedly of the Molniya type. As a result of the attack, part of the Mykolaiv district was left without electricity.

In Odesa, one infrastructure facility was hit by a drone attack. A fire broke out, and efforts to eliminate the consequences of the strike are ongoing.
