The number of people injured from the Russian drone attack on Odesa on July 11 has increased to nine, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

In particular, Kiper noted that the explosions occurred in the middle of the workday, around 10:00 a.m. local time, when many people were either at the beach or at work.

"At this point, we know of nine injured individuals. Seven were hospitalized, while the others received medical aid on-site. All authorized services are working to eliminate the consequences," the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration noted.

Due to the attack, residential buildings, a private car repair station, a stable, and several vehicles were damaged. Emergency workers, medics, and law enforcement are actively responding at the scene.

Russian drone strike on Odesa

As previously reported, Russia launched a fresh wave of kamikaze drone attacks on Ukraine in the morning. During the air assault, an explosion was recorded in Odesa.

Earlier in the day, the Air Force reported enemy drone activity over the Black Sea, with a group of strike UAVs moving toward Odesa. Shortly after, air defense systems were activated over the city.

According to RBC-Ukraine sources, Russian terrorists struck a military facility in Odesa with drones. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Initially, the Odesa City Council reported eight people injured. Authorities also confirmed damage to an administrative building.
