Russian massive attack hits Bucha in Kyiv region: Over 50 homes damaged, recovery underway

In Bucha, Kyiv region, over 50 houses, a kindergarten, and a church were damaged in Russia's overnight attack on August 8. The elimination of the consequences of enemy shelling continues, Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk and Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk report.
According to the Bucha Mayor, owners of 52 private houses have already reported damage of varying severity.
A kindergarten and the Church in Honor of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God in the Melnyky neighborhood were also affected.
All emergency services are working on-site, assisting residents and eliminating the consequences of the strike.
According to the Head of the Regional Administration, the homes sustained different levels of damage, from shattered windows and doors to near-total destruction.
"Around 50 private homes were damaged here, as well as outbuildings, garages, two unfinished apartment blocks, a dormitory, a kindergarten building, and 10 vehicles. To eliminate the consequences, we are issuing the necessary repair materials from the regional reserve to cover and fix the damages," Kalashnyk said.
Overnight attack on Bucha
At night, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the Bucha district of the Kyiv region. The strike resulted in fires in the private sector.
In Bucha, the attack damaged a kindergarten and private homes. The destruction includes shattered windows, blown-out doors, broken fences, and shrapnel scattered across floors. Despite the scale of the destruction, no casualties were reported.
