Russian jet-powered Shahed strikes passenger train in Odesa region

In the Odesa region, a jet-powered Shahed struck the locomotive of passenger train No. 147 Zhytomyr - Odesa on the morning of August 23, according to Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
According to Pertsovskyi, there were 593 passengers on the train, including 15 children.
The Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring team announced the evacuation in advance, and the train was urgently stopped between stations, so no one was injured.
Arrangements are currently being made to transport the passengers to Odesa.
Russian strikes on the railway
As previously reported, on the night of August 22, Russian forces attacked a railway facility in Kyiv with ballistic missiles, killing one employee. A railway station in the Odesa region was also hit.
On the morning of August 13, a Russian jet-powered Shahed deliberately struck the locomotive of a passenger train in the Odesa region. The monitoring team detected the threat in advance and ordered the train to stop as it was entering a station to evacuate passengers.
However, there was not enough time - the strike hit the driver's cabin directly, killing the train driver and his assistant. Thanks to the crew's actions, 340 passengers were evacuated.
