Russian forces attacked a railway facility in Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight on August 22, killing a railway worker. A train station in Odesa region was also hit by the Russian attack, according to Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia.
"Another night of terrorist attacks on the railway. In Darnytsia, one of the railway facilities was hit by ballistic missiles. The strikes occurred simultaneously with, or even a second before, the ballistic missile threat alert appeared. We are still clarifying the details," Pertsovskyi said.
As a result of the Russian attack, one employee, a foreman, was killed at the scene. The remaining workers were quickly evacuated after the first strike.
In addition, the Russian attack damaged the Odesa railway. The train station at Rozdilna station was damaged.
Attacks on Ukraine
As previously reported, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight, causing a fire in the Darnytsia district. A warehouse caught fire in the district, leaving one person dead and several others injured.
Yesterday, August 21, Russian forces launched a drone attack on a shopping mall in Kryvyi Rih.
The enemy drones struck the civilian facility twice, with the second strike occurring when rescuers and emergency services had already arrived at the site of the explosion.
A total of 16 people were killed and 130 injured.
