The Russian army is trying to establish full control over the village of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region. However, Ukrainian units are disrupting the occupiers’ plans, according to the Operational Command East.
According to the military, the Russian army is trying to fully capture the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. At the same time, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding designated positions on the northern outskirts of these settlements.
“The occupiers are also trying to take full control of the settlement of Hryshyne. Our units are holding designated lines, conducting active search-and-strike operations in Hryshyne and disrupting the enemy’s attempts to occupy the settlement,” the statement said.
Ukrainian defenders are also actively striking enemy forces with drones in the northwestern part of Pokrovsk.
According to Operational Command East, this area is exactly where Russian troops are trying to establish a bridgehead to accumulate personnel before advancing further toward Hryshyne.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces are countering the enemy’s offensive plans and holding back assault attempts. For this purpose, intensified aerial reconnaissance is being conducted, possible enemy advance routes are being mined, and enemy logistics are being blocked.
Overall, in the area of responsibility of Operational Command East, occupiers’ losses remain the highest — 272 invaders over the past day.
In addition, 2,086 UAVs of various types were destroyed, as well as 37 units of other weapons and equipment destroyed or damaged.
The Defense Forces are focusing not only on eliminating enemy infantry but also drone operators. Over the past day, 37 Russian UAV command posts were hit.
What's known about Hryshyne and the battles for the village
The village of Hryshyne is part of the Pokrovsk community and is located less than 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk. Before Russia’s full-scale invasion, about two thousand people lived there.
Ukrainian military officials have repeatedly reported attempts by Russian units to break into the settlement.
In particular, at the end of January, Russian troops launched a mechanized assault on Hryshyne. However, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled the attack, destroying enemy armored vehicles and eliminating the occupiers.
In early February, Ukrainian troops also destroyed a self-propelled artillery system belonging to Russian airborne troops. This disrupted Russia’s preparations for another assault on Hryshyne.
The village remains one of the key targets for Russian forces in the Pokrovsk direction, as its capture would complicate the logistics of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
