Attack on Ukraine on August 26

Russian forces attacked several regions of Ukraine with drones overnight on August 26, primarily in the north and east.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy launched 59 Shahed strike drones and various types of loitering drones over Ukrainian territory. Most hostile targets were intercepted by air defense forces.

In Sumy, a series of explosions was heard during the night of August 26. The military had warned of drone activity in the region.

In the morning, Russian strike drones also targeted the Dnipropetrovsk region, causing a fire. A private house caught fire, and a vehicle was damaged.

Additionally, Russian forces attacked the Shostka community in the Sumy region. Civilian infrastructure was damaged, and three men aged 35, 44, and 48 were injured.

As a result of the attacks, part of the Shostka community was left without electricity. Critical infrastructure is operating on backup power, and there are communication disruptions.
