On the night of August 26, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 59 Shahed drones and various types of decoy UAVs. Most of the enemy targets were shot down by air defense forces, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The enemy drones were launched from four directions: Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.

Anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the air attack.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense forces shot down or suppressed 47 enemy drones of various types over the north and east of the country. At the same time, 12 UAVs hit nine different locations.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

Russian forces carried out drone attacks on several regions of Ukraine overnight on August 26, mainly in the north and east.

In Sumy, a series of explosions sounded at night, as the military had earlier warned about drones detected in the region.

In the morning, Russian strike drones also targeted the Dnipropetrovsk region. The attack caused a fire, with a private house and a car damaged.

Meanwhile, the Kherson Regional Military Administration warned of high activity of Russian drones along the Kherson-Mykolaiv highway. Residents were urged not to travel along this route.
