Russian servicemen are being hospitalized en masse to avoid combat. Such cases have increased amid rumors of troop redeployments to the Pokrovsk direction, according to the Telegram channel of the partisan movement Atesh.
Agents of Atesh within the 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation, which is stationed in the Kherson direction, report a sharp rise in the number of soldiers who are suddenly falling ill and entering hospitals to evade combat.
These incidents of illness have become especially frequent amid the rumors of redeploying units to the Pokrovsk direction.
Medical units report that the number of visits has already far exceeded normal levels.
Soldiers are going to hospitals in groups, using old injuries, dubious diagnoses, and any pretext to avoid rotation, according to members of the partisan movement.
“Servicemen are increasingly stating that they do not want to go to the front and are looking for any way to evade it,” Atesh notes.
New scheme for reporting the dead
Previously, agents of Atesh reported that in certain Russian brigades, a systemic practice has been observed: after large-scale losses, the command deliberately registers the dead as those who deserted the unit. This is done to conceal the actual number of casualties (two hundreds) and to avoid claims from relatives.
Personnel are openly told that reporting as desertion is easier than explaining to the families where the body is. This scheme is also used for those who went missing during chaotic assaults on cities and for those eliminated by blocking units.
Over the past year, the scale of fictitious desertion reports has increased several times.
What is happening in Pokrovsk
The Pokrovsk direction remains the epicenter of fighting in the Donetsk region. Russian forces are attempting to encircle Pokrovsk from multiple directions and are redeploying additional troops there.
According to Colonel Vladyslav Seleznov of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia has concentrated over 140,000 troops in the Pokrovsk direction.
However, despite Russia’s statements, the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are not encircled.
