Russian forces likely executed captive Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk region - Ukrainian ombudsman
Russian troops likely executed Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk region. This occurred when Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded, according to Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets.
"Social networks revealed the probable execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war who were surrounded by Russian forces in the Kursk region," Lubinets wrote.
He added that he had already sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding this crime.
The Ombudsman called on the international community to take immediate action, as Russia has once again violated the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war.
