Russian forces launch massive attack on Toretsk: Enemy losses revealed
Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on the morning of August 18 in the direction of Toretsk in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian Defense Forces halted the assault and inflicted losses on the enemy, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
This morning, the enemy launched a massive attack in the area of the settlements of Pivnichne and Zalizne in the Donetsk region. Supported by an armored group of 12 vehicles, Russian occupiers attempted to break through Ukrainian positions and advance towards Toretsk.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully halted the enemy attack, preventing any loss of positions.
According to the General Staff, during the battle, Ukrainian forces destroyed 10 enemy vehicles and neutralized 68 Russian occupiers, 41 of whom were killed.
"We thank our Ukrainian defenders for their courage, resilience, and professionalism," the General Staff added.

Situation on the front
The hottest area on the front remains the Pokrovsk direction. However, there has been an increase in enemy attacks in the Toretsk and Lyman directions recently.
In the past day, 139 combat engagements were recorded on the front. Of these, 46 occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, 24 in the Lyman direction, and 19 in the Toretsk direction.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue their offensive operation in the Kursk region. Ukraine has managed to take control of dozens of settlements. The Ukrainian Air Force reported the destruction of another bridge in the Kursk region. Commander Mykola Oleshchuk shared a video of the Ukrainian aviation's combat operations.
