Over the past day, June 8, Russian forces intensified their attacks on the Sumy region. The enemy carried out nearly 90 strikes, resulting in casualties, states the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

According to him, seven people were injured yesterday in the Nedryhailiv community as a result of enemy strikes, and three more were wounded in the Esman community.

"Among the injured is a pregnant woman. She underwent surgery, her condition is stable, and fortunately, the baby’s life is not in danger. Wishing the expectant mother a speedy recovery," Hryhorov said.

He noted that today, 213 settlements across 18 communities are subject to evacuation. The evacuation is being carried out in a planned manner, in close coordination with the communities, the State Emergency Service, the police, volunteers, and international partners.

According to the regional head, humanitarian hubs and transit centers are also operating in the region to provide immediate assistance to those fleeing dangerous areas.

Since the beginning of June, nearly 900 people have been evacuated, including 137 children. Over the past 24 hours alone, 21 people have been moved to safer areas.

"We remain in constant contact with the military — working 24/7, we know their needs and provide support. We are strengthening anti-drone coverage and deploying mobile fire units. Businesses, volunteers, and the public are actively supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Hryhorov added.
