Russian drones hunt air defense crews in new tactic, Ukrainian official says

Russia struck a mobile fire group with a guided drone while it was shooting down a Shahed. The crew was killed, according to defense ministry adviser Serhii Beskrestnov (callsign Flash).
New method: Two drones instead of one
"Unfortunately, we have another hit by a guided Shahed on a mobile fire group crew. The mobile fire group was working on one Shahed, while another at that moment was hunting the crew," wrote defense ministry adviser Serhii Beskrestnov (callsign Flash).
This refers to a tactic where one drone distracts the crew, while the second attacks people. This is no longer an isolated case.
What crews need to know
Beskrestnov addressed all structures and branches of the military where mobile fire groups are involved. According to him, it is necessary to:
- Think in advance about camouflage;
- Have a ready action plan in case of a drone attack;
- Be prepared for this threat both mentally and physically.
"Please show and explain this new threat to crews," he emphasized.
A ceasefire was in effect between Russia and Ukraine during Easter. However, Russia did not observe it at all. Russian forces used the lull to prepare for new attacks and regroup forces.
In just two days, the General Staff counted more than 10,000 Russian attacks against Ukraine. In the Sumy region, Russian forces even launched an offensive. Several penetration zones of the Russian army were recorded near the border.
Russian forces also did not stop attacks on Ukraine's energy system. Yesterday, the Chernihiv region was attacked. Thousands of Ukrainians were left without electricity due to an attack on critical infrastructure.
