Russian drone strikes commuter train in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, 2 passengers injured

Today, May 15, Russian forces struck a commuter train in the Zaporizhzhia region with a drone. Two passengers were injured, Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian state railway operator) press service reports.
As the company clarified, the hit occurred near one of the carriages.
"Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring center informed locomotive crew about air threat, after which the train was stopped, and passenger evacuation began," the statement says.
There was very little time for evacuation. According to preliminary information, two passengers who did not manage to leave the carriage received shrapnel injuries. All circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified.
Victims were promptly given first aid and handed over to medics. Railway workers are accompanying passengers and remain with them at the medical facility.
Currently, specialists are working to restore train traffic on the damaged section.
Ukrzaliznytsia added that it continues to closely monitor the security situation in the region and respond promptly to all threats.

Earlier, during a massive enemy attack on Ukraine on May 13, 23 hits on railway facilities were recorded. There were dead and injured among railway workers.
