On the morning of August 14, Russian forces struck a residential building in the Sumy region with two jet-powered drones. A woman and her 9-year-old son were killed, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

"Early this morning, the Russians struck a private residential building in the Buryn community with two rocket-powered drones. There is extensive damage and a fire," Hryhorov says.

According to him, a 29-year-old woman and her 9-year-old son were killed at the scene.

Four other people were injured. Two of them, the boy's father and grandmother, are in the hospital with severe burns.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

On the night of August 14, Russians launched 112 drones at various regions of Ukraine.

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 90 Russian drones, including Shahed and Gerbera models, as well as other types, in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

At the same time, Russian drones struck 11 locations. Debris from the downed drones also fell in six other locations.

On the evening of August 13, the Russians attacked the Kramatorsk community with guided aerial bombs. Russian strikes damaged residential buildings, and over 15 people are known to have been injured.
