Russian drone strike in Ukraine's Donbas kills French reporter

In the Donetsk region, French journalist and photographer Antoni Lallican was killed in an attack by a Russian FPV drone, according to the 4th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade.
"Russia continues to target civilians and does everything to keep the world from knowing the truth. As a result of a targeted strike by an enemy FPV drone, French journalist-photographer Antoni Lallican was killed," the statement said.
Working alongside him was a journalist and photographer from Kyiv Independent, a member of the Ukrainian Association of Professional Photographers, Hryhorii Ivanchenko. He was injured and is currently in stable condition.
The brigade noted that both journalists were wearing personal protective gear, with PRESS markings on their bulletproof vests.
"The enemy has once again cynically violated the rules of International Humanitarian Law. This incident confirms the deceit and brutality of the enemy army," the military emphasized.
Sergiy Tomilenko, head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, reported that the incident occurred on the morning of October 3 near Druzhkivka.
According to him, this is the third French journalist to be killed in the war in Ukraine.
In August last year, a Polish journalist was injured in a Russian strike in Kramatorsk while covering Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Journalists from the US news agency Reuters were also injured in the same attack.
