Russia, on the night of Tuesday, October 7, again attacked the energy infrastructure of Ukraine's Chernihiv region. The city of Pryluky came under attack, according to Chernihivoblenergo (regional energy provider), the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, and the Regional State Administration.

Strike on Pryluky

Last night, Shahed drones attacked critical infrastructure in Pryluky, and as a result of the strike, a vital infrastructure facility was damaged. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties.

All necessary services are working at the site. It is currently known that 56 Points of Invincibility (designated heating and shelter facilities providing basic services during outages) are operating in the Pryluky district.

Energy situation

According to the Regional Military Administration, the region will operate under scheduled hourly power outages today. If the situation allows, energy workers will additionally reduce the scale of restrictions.

"In Pryluky, part of the subscribers remain without power due to the enemy attack – services are working for prompt restoration," the statement said.

Chernihivoblenergo clarified that more than 61,000 subscribers were left without electricity at the same time.

"Energy workers promptly began restoration and are already supplying power to consumers. So, we ask that you wait a little. We are doing everything to return electricity to your homes as quickly as possible," the energy company reported.

In addition to Pryluky, the energy situation is also tricky in Chernihiv. Currently, algorithms that were pre-planned for all forces and resources involved in emergency response are being applied.

"To prevent a complete blackout of Chernihiv, energy workers are restoring and managing the electricity flow in the grids to supply critical infrastructure and residential buildings primarily," the Regional State Administration reported.

Due to these switching operations, accidents sometimes occur, so the outage schedules do not always match the announced ones.
