During another drone attack on the Odesa region, one of the enemy drones entered Romanian territory. The NATO member state scrambled F-16 fighter jets in response, notes Digi24.

Yesterday evening, February 25, the Romanian Ministry of Defense reported that an unidentified drone briefly entered the country's airspace, and two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled for interception. Residents on social media reported hearing a drone's hum and even seeing it as a UAV flying at low altitude.

Later, the Romanian military noted that a drone entered Romanian airspace in the Sfântu Gheorghe area and, allegedly "without endangering people's lives," left it north of Sulina, moving only over the country's territorial waters.

''Ministry of National Defense strongly condemns Russian attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, which is a serious violation of international law and a threat to regional security,'' the Romanian MoD added.

Romania strengthens security amid Russian threat

It was previously reported that Romania could become a site for a strategic maritime security center, which will strengthen the protection of Black Sea and the region's critical infrastructure under threat from Russia.

We also wrote that the country is creating an "energy shield" in Black Sea around the gas project for the EU. This refers to an extensive early threat detection system in Black Sea, which will include radar stations, drones, and sensor systems.
