The Polish government has all the evidence that the Russian drone attack on Poland was a planned provocation, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, reports.

“Russia deliberately attacked Poland - we have facts and evidence to prove it. It was a planned provocation, coordinated with a disinformation campaign,” Gawkowski noted.

According to Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, any deviation from this information strengthens the Russian narrative.

“Every word that undermines the fact that we were dealing with a deliberate action supports Russian disinformation. Disinformation is also part of war,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.

Russian drones in Poland

On the night of September 10, during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, about 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Air defense systems managed to shoot down only four of the UAVs.

According to the latest information, Poland has found fragments of 16 Russian drones that entered its territory during the attack. One of the UAVs fell on the grounds of a military base.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called the Alliance's response to the incident in Poland “very successful.” Rutte emphasized that last night showed NATO’s readiness to defend every inch of its territory, including its airspace.

Following the Russian attack, NATO invoked Article 4, allowing member states to discuss the situation with allies in the North Atlantic Council.
