On August 27, the Russians again launched a combined attack on Ukraine. All air targets flying toward Kyiv were destroyed, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Russia struck Ukraine with drones, ballistic, cruise, and aerial ballistic missiles.

In total, the air alert was declared in Kyiv 4 times during the night and lasted more than 5 hours in total.

Around 3 a.m., the Russians also took to the skies several MiG-31Ks, which launched several Kinzhals across the Kyiv region in the direction of the western regions. In particular, several Tu-95MS bombers took to the air. The latter launched Kh-101 cruise missiles, which attacked Kyiv at around 5 a.m.

“The Russian air strike, like yesterday, again ended in waves of barrage attacks. In total, since the beginning of this day, Ukrainian air defense forces and means have destroyed about a dozen Russian drones and several missiles around Kyiv. Everything that was flying at the capital of Ukraine was destroyed,” says Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

According to the operational report, debris fell in the forest and park areas of Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts. This caused fires on the forest floor. Some of them have already been eliminated, while others have been localized.

There was no information on damage or casualties.

“There is no air alert in Kyiv at the moment, but there is an air alert in the Kyiv region. Russian drones are still being spotted in the airspace and may be heading for Kyiv. Listen to the air alert signals and immediately go to the shelter when they are announced,” Popko adds.
