Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief today, August 26. One of the topics was the restoration of energy infrastructure following a massive Russian attack, according to the head of the state on Telegram.

"The meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Restoration of energy infrastructure following one of the largest Russian attacks. At least 127 missiles and 109 drones," the President wrote.

During the meeting, reports were given by Air Force Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, and Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky.

According to Zelenskyy, a detailed analysis was conducted on the effectiveness of air defense systems, electronic warfare, mobile fire groups, and engineering protection in each region. Relevant decisions were made.

"At the facilities, work is underway to eliminate the consequences, repair, and de-mine. In some places, the terrorist state attacked civilian objects with cluster munitions. Sappers need to work before the energy sector can start repairs," the President added.

What preceded

This morning, August 26, explosions occurred in several regions of Ukraine. It turned out that the Russian forces launched another massive attack, using both missiles and drones.

Russia once again targeted the country's energy infrastructure. Some of it was damaged, leading to a restricted electricity supply for consumers.

Additionally, aviation expert Konstantyn Kryvolap mentioned in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel that today's attack had a particular feature.
