The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine comments on the presence of weapons among the Russian volunteer troops who broke through the Russian border on March 12. It also explained the "phenomenon" of such raids, which are not the first time they have taken place, according to DIU representative Andrii Yusov.

"A full-scale war has been going on in Ukraine for more than 2 years. There are trophy weapons and over-trophied weapons. If we are talking about the actions of the Ukrainian security and defense forces, of course, it is Ukrainian weapons and Ukrainian production. There are no secrets here," he adds.

The representative of the DIU also answers why it is not the first time these battalions have managed to cross the Russian border.

"This is probably not a question of how the border is guarded, but how the relevant units plan their operations and in such conditions they manage, even though the enemy tries and reports that everything is protected, everything is under control, they manage to return home again and again and realize their tasks," the intelligence officer explains.

Russian volunteer troops break through Russian border

On March 12, the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Siberian Battalion entered the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation as part of a joint operation. In particular, in the Belgorod region, having broken through on tanks, they are advancing in several directions.

An intercept obtained by RBC-Ukraine revealed that they advanced in several directions in the Hraivoronsky district.

Earlier, Yusov commented on the breakthrough of the Russian border by volunteers in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
