Russian bomb destroys five-story building in Ukraine's Izium, people trapped under rubble

Russia has struck Izium in the Kharkiv region with a guided aerial bomb (KAB). The attack destroyed an entire section of a residential building. People have been injured, and rescuers are searching for survivors under the rubble, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Strike on Izium
At around 3:00 p.m. on October 29, Russian forces carried out an airstrike using a guided aerial bomb on Izium in the Kharkiv region.
"The bomb struck a five-story building, causing partial destruction from the first to the fifth floors," Syniehubov said.
According to the official, people may be trapped under the rubble. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Later, Syniehubov added that five people had been injured in the Russian attack. All of them are receiving medical assistance.
"All emergency services are operating at full capacity," he noted.
At 3:40 p.m., it was reported that the number of injured in Izium had risen to nine.
Update at 3:54 p.m.
Later, the Izium City Military Administration reported that Russian forces had struck the city of Izium with three guided aerial bombs.

"The strike hit the Nyzhnie Misto district. The attack damaged an administrative building and outbuildings. In addition, more than 20 private houses were damaged," the statement said.
According to Syniehubov, the number of injured had risen to 10.
"Seven of the injured were hospitalized with blast injuries," he said.

Oleh Syniehubov said rescuers had pulled another injured person from the rubble of the building. The number of injured has risen to 12.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia attacked Izium with guided aerial bombs overnight on September 14. The strike injured two adults and a two-month-old baby.
Also, explosions were heard in Izium on July 24. Russia bombed a Nova Poshta parcel delivery facility. Part of the district was also left without electricity.
