Russian forces on the Huliaipole axis are intensifying combat operations, using thousands of drones and conducting dozens of assaults against the Ukrainian Armed Forces each day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"The situation in the south of Ukraine, particularly in the Huliaipole direction, is currently indeed tense. The enemy is conducting active assault operations, increasing the number of artillery strikes and the use of kamikaze drones," the General Staff noted.
It is reported that in the past 24 hours alone, more than three dozen assaults were recorded, more than half a thousand artillery strikes using over 2,100 munitions, a dozen airstrikes, 250 drone drops, and nearly 2,000 kamikaze drone attacks.
"The war is being fought not only on the battlefield but also on the information front. The enemy skillfully manipulates the mood of Ukrainian society: deliberately exaggerating its so-called successes and heavily emphasizing problems within the Defense Forces of Ukraine, spreading panic among Ukrainians and provoking rash actions," the statement said.
The Armed Forces hold the defense
Despite everything, the defenders are holding; communication with them is maintained, logistics are in place, and support is being provided. Every day they destroy 250–300 Russian troops and more than a hundred pieces of weapons and military equipment.
Just yesterday, two enemy tanks, about 15 artillery systems, and nearly 40 units of motor and automotive equipment were taken out of action.
"Fierce fighting is taking place for every meter of native land. The situation in the area is difficult, but there is no encirclement; communication with the fighters is maintained, logistics are in place, and evacuation of the wounded is underway. Information about so-called barrier troops blocking our units does not correspond to reality. On the contrary, assault units have been deployed to reinforce them," the General Staff added.
Actions of the command
It is also noted that the military command responds promptly to changes in the situation and always makes balanced decisions: when resources are available, to hold the defense and protect Ukrainian territory; when resources are lacking, to preserve the lives of personnel by withdrawing them to more advantageous positions, thereby giving up a certain position to the enemy. But afterward — to stop the enemy, block its advance, and inflict comprehensive fire damage.
At the same time, the appropriateness of one decision or another can be determined only by those who possess sufficient data regarding the operational situation on the frontline.
Citizens and the media have the right to express their own views, share thoughts and conclusions, but the main source of reliable information about the course of hostilities is the General Staff. It provides operational and verified information that reflects the actual situation on the frontline.
"That is why we call on the media and the public to trust only verified information and not succumb to the influence of questionable sources that, knowingly or unknowingly, play into the enemy's hands," the General Staff emphasized.
Situation on the Huliaipole axis
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that during their offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces captured three settlements. Heavy fighting continues for two more villages.
There was also information that Russian forces had cut one of the key logistical routes leading to Huliaipole. Russia is now increasing efforts in the Huliaipole direction, attempting to encircle the town from the east and north.
On November 21, the Defense Forces denied information about the encirclement of Ukrainian units on the Huliaipole axis. They stated that this does not correspond to reality.
According to the command, the situation is tense, but communication with the fighters is intact, and logistics are functioning.
In today's morning report, the General Staff stated that in the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks toward Dobropillia and Huliaipole, as well as near Vesele, Zatyshshia, Zelenyi Hai, and Vysoke.
