Information about the encirclement of Ukrainian units in the Huliaipole direction does not correspond to reality. The situation is tense, but communication with the fighters is maintained, and logistics are functioning, according to the press service of the Southern Defense Forces.
"The situation in the Huliaipole direction is quite tense. The enemy is not reducing its fire pressure on our positions; in particular, over the past day, 10 combat engagements took place near the settlements of Yablukove and Rivnopillia," the statement reads.
At the same time, information is circulating on social media claiming that certain units are encircled by the enemy, as well as allegations about the barrier troops blocking Ukrainian units and preventing them from withdrawing.
"This information is not true and is openly aimed at discrediting the military command. The situation in this direction is indeed difficult, but communication with our fighters is maintained, logistics are in place, and the evacuation of the wounded is being conducted," the Defense Forces noted.
Meanwhile, assault units are being deployed to reinforce the troops fighting in this area.
The command fully controls the situation in the sector and is taking all necessary measures to improve the tactical position of Ukrainian forces.
"We urge the media and the public to trust only verified information and not to be influenced by dubious sources that knowingly or unknowingly play into the hands of the enemy," the military emphasized.
Situation on the frontline
According to the General Staff, over the past day, November 20, there were 173 combat engagements on the frontline. Russian forces continue active assaults in the Pokrovsk direction.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy attempted to advance ten times toward the positions of Ukrainian forces in the areas of Yablukove and Rivnopillia.
At the same time, as reported by the Air Assault Forces, Russian troops are grinding down in Pokrovsk. The enemy has pulled in operational reserves to replenish heavy personnel losses.
On the northern outskirts of Myrnohrad, clearing operations against enemy infantry are nearing completion. Additional resources are also being deployed to identify and eliminate enemy forces whose movement has been detected in the southern part of the city.
