Russian forces are being ground down in Pokrovsk. The enemy has pulled in operational reserves to replenish losses among its personnel, the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

According to the military, the Defense Forces are holding designated lines in the northern part of Pokrovsk. They also control positions south of the railway, which are important for further de-occupation.

The enemy is attempting to cross the railway to expand the zone of occupation in the city, but these attempts are blocked by Ukrainian defenders.

"The enemy forces in Pokrovsk are being ground down. As a result, the enemy has to replenish losses among its personnel. Russian command has already deployed the operational reserve of the Center grouping into our area of responsibility—units of the 76th Air Assault Division of the Russian Federation," the Air Assault Forces reported.

To counter the enemy’s further advance and carry out clearing operations in Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops are reinforcing their grouping, including increasing the number of UAV crews.

One of the key tasks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains the complete blockage of the enemy’s logistics routes to the city, including through the use of tactical and army aviation.

On the northern outskirts of Myrnohrad, the clearing of enemy infantry is nearing completion. Additional resources are also being deployed to detect and eliminate enemy forces whose movement has been recorded in the southern part of the city.

Also, small enemy groups tried to infiltrate Hryshyne, located northwest of Pokrovsk. But Ukrainian soldiers detected and eliminated the enemy in time.

Fighting for Pokrovsk

It will be recalled that the epicenter of the fighting in the Donetsk region remains the Pokrovsk axis, where Russian forces are attempting to encircle the city from several directions and are deploying additional forces there.

The occupiers used unfavorable weather conditions, including thick fog, and penetrated Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. Currently, more than 300 invaders are inside the city.

Recently, Russian forces carried out a massive assault on Pokrovsk with light vehicles on the Selydove–Pokrovsk highway. It achieved partial success.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi stated, Ukrainian defenders continue to defend Pokrovsk. At present, there is no talk of Russian control over the city or the operational encirclement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, the Russians are trying to break into the high-rise buildings in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Ukraine’s military command has already prepared measures to counter such enemy plans.

Earlier, the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces reported that Russian forces were attempting to bypass Pokrovsk and seize the settlement of Hryshyne, located northwest of the city.

The Russians are failing to capture Pokrovsk itself; they cannot break through the city’s defense.
