Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia village kills 9-year-old girl

On the night of May 31, Russian forces attacked a village in the Polohy district of the Zaporizhzhia region with aerial bombs. A young girl was killed and a teenager was injured in the strike, reports Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“A 9-year-old girl was killed, and a 16-year-old boy was wounded. These are the consequences of the enemy attack on the frontline village in the Polohy district,” the statement said.

Fedorov clarified that the Russian forces targeted residential areas with cluster air bombs. As a result, one house was destroyed, and several other houses, cars, and outbuildings were damaged by the blast wave.
Attacks on the Zaporizhzhia region
The Russian forces regularly attack the Zaporizhzhia region using drones, air-dropped bombs, and missiles.
For example, at dawn on May 29, the enemy attacked residential homes in the village of Verkhnia Tersa in the aforementioned Polohy district with guided aerial bombs.
“At dawn, Russia attacked the village of Verkhnia Tersa with guided aerial bombs. At least 5 bombs were dropped on private buildings. Residential buildings were destroyed and damaged,” Fedorov wrote.
He added that people are trapped under the rubble.
